Akiba"s first snow!!

Saturday December 19, 2009. Today we had a training planned for the CACIB Ljubljana in Železniki... Canceled... reasons: the storm outside!!!!The training was reported to the next week end..but we decided to go play outside anyway!!!

My Best Friend

I present you my best friend William. He is my best friend because: he keeps me out of troubles ( yeah, well.. he catches me before mummy sees me licking the face of the little brother!) He surrenders his place on the couch, he always gives me fresh water ( even when mummy just changed it 15 minutes ago..) He is always ready for a race ( even though I run 3 times faster as he does...) and he LOVES to cuddle(annoy) me when I am sleeping. Thats all the reasons why Will is my best friend and its also why I dig holes and eat REALLY IMPORTANT PAPERS when mummy doesnt let me see him right away when he comes back from school ( how come she doestn get it yet?)

AKIBA, 6 months

Akiba is 5 months old!!

Akiba is now 5 months old and weighs already 21kg!!! He is around half of his adult weight, he has all his new teeths and is wondeful with his family!!!

Preparing for CACIB Ljubljana-Tromostovje

I received the answer that I was waiting for. After a little bit of regret to not have participated to the CACIB Vrtojba- Šempeter, I asked Samo(breeder) about the next show. January 16th -17th will be the CACIB Ljubljana-Tromostovje....and we will be there!!! I have to say that I am really excited about this one!! The Boxer breed will be judged on saturday by an Italian judge and on sunday by a Slovenian judge. The exhibition is inside and is quite big. Akiba will be competing in the puppy class( 6 -9 months) .... Until then, we have some training to do!!!!

2. klubska razstava- Železniki

Akiba participated on his first show on October 17th, 2009. It was the 2nd club show of German Boxer of Slovenija. He competed against 11 other brindle males aged from 4 to 9 months(wich was, for my point of view, totally unfair considering that ususally the baby class is from 4 to 6 months..) He didnt made the final 4 but he received a grade of "very promising" with really nice notifications from the judge. Then we went back in the ring to participate in the ""group class" ( mother and min 3 of her pups) . We were the only family to participate so we won!!!(I am sure we would have won anyway!!!).. We are extremely proud of him. For his first time in the ring, I consider that he made a wonderful job!!!! We are continuing our training each day until the next show!!!

The start

I have been annoying my husband since some time to have a dog without really knowing wich breed I would like. I started to make some research on the internet about good family breeds. Thats when my ""obsession"" of the German Boxer breed started. I decided that I wanted to have a puppy. A male. I was not ready to have a female. Since we wanted to have a dog with a pedigree , it would have mean that we would need to breed her, and I didnt want that. Not at that moment. I started my research on the boxer puppies available in Europe. I fell in love with the puppies of the litter A from the Von Aisneren kennel in Slovenija. We called the owner and asked if the dog were still available. Yes. At that moment the dog were only 1 months old. 1 week after we drove the long way down to Železniki to see the puppies. I was going to see one in particular. But when we arrived, the owner proposed another one to us. Akiba. He had wonderful natural movements and positions and was already promising!! The only problem: the 3rd lid of his left eye is not pigmented. We reserved him anyway and waited 2 weeks and went back to see him again and take our decision. The other males were still available but my heart was choosing him. We took him home on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, August 23rd, 2009. Thats when the love story began....
